Why do I need to demonstrate financial need (FASFA) for a scholarship that's intended to help prevent me from falling into debt or financial strain?
As an older student, I've found it eye-opening to pursue furthering my education and not qualifying for scholarships because I do not want to file a FASFA.
For trying to be financially responsible, it feels like I have to go into debt just to get a degree.
Is debt inherently linked to being a student?
Approximately $3 billion in scholarships go unclaimed each year in the United States. This is primarily due to students not applying for them, either because they are unaware of the opportunities or because they believe they aren't qualified for them. Why make it harder for those that would like to utilize these types of opportunities?
